Supporting sustainable jobs, innovation and resilient rural communitiesDublin Rural Leader is delighted to announce that our Green Economy Funding Call is now open, inviting applications from projects based in rural Dublin that support economic growth while protecting the environment.The Green Economy focuses on creating sustainable employment and future-proofing rural areas through environmentally responsible initiatives. Funding is available for projects with a minimum value of €5,000, supporting both new and existing ideas to develop, test and grow.What is the Green Economy?The Green Economy supports economic development while reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities. It prioritises projects that contribute to climate action, biodiversity protection and efficient use of resources, while also creating meaningful local employment.Priority areas include:

  • Sustainable and regenerative farming
  • Renewable energy initiatives
  • Circular economy and waste reduction projects
  • Biodiversity and environmental conservation
  • Eco-tourism and rural tourism experiences
  • Resource-efficient and low-carbon businesses

What can the funding support?Green Economy funding can support a wide range of activities, including:

  • Feasibility studies and research
  • Training and skills development
  • Capital investment and equipment
