MyAgFood & AMS Training Programme for Dublin Farmers

‍ ‍

Many farmers are now receiving letters, alerts, and compliance notifications from the Department of Agriculture relating to systems such as AgFood.ie, AMS (Area Monitoring System), and AgriSnap. These digital tools are increasingly important for scheme compliance, submitting information, and responding to inspections or notifications.

‍ ‍

For many farmers, however, these systems can be confusing and difficult to navigate. Understanding what the notifications mean, what action is required, and how to respond correctly is becoming an essential part of managing a farm business.

‍ ‍

To help address this, a free practical training programme is being organised for Dublin farmers. The programme will provide clear, hands-on guidance to help participants understand and confidently use the Department’s digital systems.

‍ ‍

What the Programme Covers

‍ ‍

This training programme focuses on practical skills and real examples. Topics include:

‍ ‍

  • How AgFood.ie works and where to find the information you need

  • Understanding AMS notifications and important compliance deadlines

  • How to use AgriSnap to submit geo-tagged photo evidence

  • Avoiding common mistakes that can lead to payment reductions or penalties

  • Livestock and horticulture examples of how AMS monitoring works in practice

  • Practical tips to build confidence using digital tools on your farm

‍ ‍

Participants will have the opportunity to see step-by-step demonstrations and ask questions about issues they may have encountered.

‍ ‍

A Practical, Supportive Learning Environment

‍ ‍

The programme is designed to be informal, practical, and supportive. Sessions will take place in small local groups, allowing plenty of time for discussion and individual questions.

‍ ‍

Farmers are encouraged to bring their own phone or laptop, so they can follow along with demonstrations and receive help directly with their own accounts where needed.

‍ ‍

Support will also be available between sessions, helping participants deal with any notifications or queries that arise during the programme.
