Electric Tools Project Supports Sustainability at Balbriggan Rugby Football Club
Dublin Rural LEADER is delighted to announce the successful completion of the Electric Tools Project with BRFC, a community-led initiative designed to support sustainability and energy efficiency at local club level.
The project focused on replacing traditional fuel-powered equipment with modern electric tools, helping the club reduce emissions, lower long-term operating costs, and adopt more environmentally responsible practices. This transition represents a practical step towards sustainability while continuing to support the essential maintenance and development of club facilities.
Sports and community clubs play a vital role in rural areas, not only as centres for physical activity but also as social hubs that bring people together. Supporting these organisations to operate in a more sustainable way contributes to wider climate action goals while strengthening community resilience.
The completion of the Electric Tools Project demonstrates how targeted investment and local collaboration can deliver tangible environmental and social benefits. Dublin Rural LEADER is proud to work alongside BRFC on this initiative and commends all those involved for their commitment to positive change.
Projects like this reflect our ongoing mission to support sustainable rural development, empower local communities, and encourage practical actions that contribute to a greener future for Dublin’s rural areas.
