Celebrating Volunteers in Rural Dublin on International Volunteer Day
Every year, International Volunteer Day offers an opportunity to pause and recognise the extraordinary individuals who contribute their time, skills, and energy to building stronger, more connected communities. At Dublin Rural LEADER, we are proud to work alongside so many dedicated volunteers in rural Dublin who drive positive change across our towns, villages, and community groups.
Volunteers play a vital role in shaping the rural landscape — from supporting local development projects and revitalising community facilities to leading environmental initiatives, cultural programmes, youth activities, and more. Their commitment ensures our rural communities remain vibrant, resilient, and forward-looking.
Across the region, volunteer-led groups continue to identify local needs, bring forward creative ideas, and collaborate with partners to deliver meaningful projects. LEADER funding may support these initiatives, but it is the volunteers who bring them to life. Their leadership, local knowledge, and determination are what transform possibilities into real outcomes.
On International Volunteer Day, we extend our sincere thanks to every volunteer who contributes to the social, cultural, and economic wellbeing of rural Dublin. Your work strengthens community spirit, supports sustainable development, and builds a brighter future for everyone who calls rural Dublin home.
To all the volunteers across our area: thank you for everything you do. Your impact is felt every day.
