Dublin Rural LEADER is offering a free 6-week Biodiversity Awareness & Action Plan Training course, designed to build biodiversity knowledge, support community action and help communities create local nature plans.

The course will be delivered across four locations in rural Dublin, making it an accessible opportunity for local community groups, volunteers and individuals interested in protecting and enhancing biodiversity in their area.

What will the course cover?

Over six weeks, participants will develop their understanding of local biodiversity and explore practical ways to support nature within their communities.

The training will help participants:

  • 🌱 Build their knowledge and awareness of biodiversity

  • 🦋 Understand the importance of local habitats and species

  • 🤝 Explore ways communities can take action for biodiversity

  • 📋 Develop ideas for a local nature plan

  • 💚 Gain practical knowledge that can be put into action locally

Biodiversity is an important part of healthy, resilient communities. From pollinators and wildflowers to hedgerows, trees, wetlands and local wildlife, there are many opportunities for communities to support nature.

This course provides participants with the knowledge and confidence to identify opportunities for biodiversity action and begin developing a local nature plan for their community.

The Biodiversity Awareness & Action Plan Training will be delivered across four locations in rural Dublin, helping to make the programme accessible to communities throughout the Dublin Rural LEADER area.
