Fingal LEADER Partnership has worked on several sports based initiatives with local community clubs in 2009. This partnership was initiated by the FAI when the Integrated Sports Project was initiated. The aim of this initiative was to encourage new communities to become more involved in local sports club. The main partner FLP initially worked with was St. Ita’s Club in Portrane. An open day was held which invited all those not currently playing for a club to come along for a day to find out more and play some football. This was an enjoyable day and through the planning arrangement the club also learnt loads in relation to ethnic minorities and their additional needs.  FLP also collaborated with Lusk United on an Open Day initiative with a similar aim. This work is all carried out in partnership with FAI Development Officer.
